Between the Jura, the Alps and Lake Geneva, the Pays de Gex is one of Europe's most strategic ski gateways. Two mountain ranges in one day: Monts Jura family resorts within 30 minutes, and the great Alpine domains (Chamonix, Megève, Les Gets, Morzine, Flaine, Avoriaz) in 1h15 to 1h45. This guide lists every resort we serve, the transport formulas and practical tips for stress-free ski travel.

The Pays de Gex, ideal ski base

  • Monts Jura at hand. From Saint-Genis-Pouilly or Gex you're on the slopes in 25-40 minutes. Mijoux-La Faucille and Lélex-Crozet offer a family domain with exceptional views of Lake Geneva and Mont-Blanc from Crêt de la Neige.
  • Alps 1h30 away. Autoroute blanche (A40) connects to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in under 1h30. Megève, Les Gets, Morzine, Flaine, Avoriaz follow. Portes du Soleil (650 km of pistes) closer than some classic Haute-Savoie resorts.
  • Geneva airport. For international skiers, airport → resort transfer by VTC is the premium alternative to long group-shuttle waits. We drop directly at your hotel or slope-side with your gear loaded.

Monts Jura resorts

Mijoux — La Faucille

Perched at 1,000 m at Col de la Faucille. The closest ski domain to Geneva. 30 km of alpine slopes, 50 km nordic, 7 lifts. Ideal beginners, families, day trips.

Col de la Faucille — cross-country & snowshoeing

Dozens of kilometres of groomed trails. Day-accessible from any Pays de Gex commune without an Alpine pass.

FAQ

Best period to ski?

Mid-January to early March for stable snow. February school holidays busiest. April offers great spring days with fewer crowds.

Are mountain roads always passable in winter?

D1005 priority-cleared, A40 state-managed. Last sections to isolated chalets may need chains — our vehicles carry them.

Can you carry rental skis?

Yes. Many clients say rent at the resort and we bring them back with the gear loaded.

Door-to-door from an isolated chalet?

Yes. If final access is difficult, we meet at a practicable rendez-vous a few hundred metres away.

Are helmets and boots included?

Yes. All ski equipment transported at no charge.

What if the road is closed for snow?

Alternative route or postpone until reopening. No trip lost.

Sunday-evening return guaranteed despite jams?

Yes. Early departure before 15:00 preferred. Late return coordinated with live traffic info.

Same-day round trip to Chamonix possible?

Yes. Very popular weekend formula. Depart 6 a.m., slopes open 9 a.m., return 16:00-17:00.
