Frequently asked questions When is the best time to ski in the area? Mid-January to early March offers the most stable snow cover. The Christmas holidays (late December) are popular but often busy; the February holidays concentrate the most traffic on the A40. April brings beautiful spring days with fewer crowds. Are mountain roads still passable in winter? The D1005 (Col de la Faucille) is cleared of snow as a priority, passable 365 days a year with some exceptions. The A40 Chamonix is managed as a state motorway, almost always clear. The last sections towards the isolated chalets may require chains – our vehicles are equipped with them. Can we transport rental skis? Yes of course. Many customers rent their equipment at the resort and we bring them back the loaded equipment at the end of their stay.
